our Mission

ONE DAY, JESUS WAS ASKED, “WHICH COMMANDMENT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL?”
HIS ANSWER GIVES GLYNWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH OUR MISSION STATEMENT:

Know God, Love God, Love Your Neighbor

Jesus said, “Hear O Israel, the Lord is God, the Lord is one.” We help people meet, know, and become more like Jesus through Bible study, Biblical preaching, and disciple-making conversations.

love god

The Great Commandment is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Through authentic worship and prayer, we grow in our love for God and experience His love for us.

love your neighbor

Jesus taught us to love our neighbors as ourselves. This starts across the street, but also takes us around the world. We make a difference in our church, community, and world by discovering our purpose and joining a serve team or mission opportunity.

These are the things that we feel matter the most within the hearts and minds of our people.

We accept the Bible as our ultimate authority in life and faith.

We acknowledge God as the Creator of the universe, and our complete dependence on Him.

We worship Jesus as the one and only Son of God, the atoning sacrifice for our sin, and the only hope for our salvation.

We rely on the Holy Spirit to guide and direct us in every area of our lives.

We consider the church as the Body of Christ on earth and equip every believer to find their place of service within it.

We seek to expand God’s Kingdom on earth through local and global missions.
