Glynwood Childcare Ministry
Glynwood Childcare Ministry, recognizes that preschoolers need to grow spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically and socially. We facilitate this by providing a biblically-based, age-appropriate pre-academic education ministry for each child.
Our Weekday Hours:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday
The GCM calendar corresponds with the Autauga County school year. The weekday hours are 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Children’s ages for enrollment are based on September 2 birthdate
Each class has planned age-appropriate activates. A bible story time, music, indoor and outdoor actives are also planned. Chapel is conducted once a month for three and Four year olds.
Music Time at GCM exist to provide a fun and creative environment where children can learn and explore music while focusing on the following goals:
•To help Children develop their talents through music that
God has given them.
•To use music to teach Spiritual Truths
•To Learn that music can be an expression of Praise and Worship
For our Toddlers – 2 year olds we use the “ Wee Learn” Curriculum, which is developed around themes of understanding God, Jesus , the Bible, the church, self, others and Natural world. They use Hands- on Learning activities which include books, art, music, blocks, home loving, nature, puzzles and more. Children are given opportunities to develop thinking and reasoning skills, creativity and learning to get along with others.
In the three and four year old classes, basic letters and sounds and math concepts are explored by using the Christian A Beka curriculum. Although the curriculum is more academic in nature, the focus is to help develop a love for learning by exploring concepts without insisting on mastery. Children will spend much of their time in self-directed play and development skills. The focus for this group is opportunities for prayer, making choices, social skill development, and pre-academic skills.
We take security measures such as background checks for all teachers and staff. We strive to ensure each child can learn and be cared for in a safe-environment
