It is the Glynwood Childcare Ministry’s mission to operate and maintain a Christian, non-profit childcare program that serves the educational and spiritual needs of the community through the implementation of a developmentally appropriate academic curriculum and Bible-based teaching ministry for children of various social and economic backgrounds.
The philosophy of GCM is based on Biblical teachings:
“Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” Luke 2:52
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6
“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord” Psalms 78:4

Classes begin in August within a week after Autauga County schools begin their new school year. We close the Friday before Autauga County schools close at the end of the school year in May.
GCM is closed the week of Thanksgiving, 2 weeks at Christmas, and one week for Spring Break (same week as Autauga County) We are also closed on Labor Day, Good Friday, and some of the minor holidays (with advance notice.)
Our focus is on the whole child, including spiritual development. Three year old and four year old classes have weekly chapel. Older two year olds join us in January. All classes have weekly Bible stories.
Infants-two year olds use the Wee Learn program, and threes and fours use ABeka.
All classes have music time with Mrs. Amy each week. We have two programs each year.
Everyone plays outside daily, weather permitting.
***Extra curricular activities are offered for an additional fee through independent providers. Currently these include art, dance, and taekwondo. Additional classes may be offered; ask in the office.***
Parents provide a daily morning snack and a lunch for their student. On Fridays we offer pizza and juice for an additional fee.
Each class has a rest/nap time after lunch.
Our three and four year old classes took several field trips last year, and we plan to continue that this year. Twos went to the zoo as well. Last year they went to the Pumpkin Patch, a Christmas tree farm, the bowling alley, and the zoo. Other trips may be planned this year. These trips require a parent/chaperone, as GCM cannot transport or supervise children off the church grounds.
For any other questions please feel free to contact the GCM or the Church Office.
